Summary of Auto Insurance Coverage found in a typical Ohio Car Policy
The car auto policy usually consists of a declarations page, an agreement and definitions page, and six separate parts. The six parts are as follows:

  •  Medical Payments Coverage: provides coverage for reasonable and necessary medical expenses incurred by an insured because of bodily injury caused by an automobile accident.
  •  Uninsured Motorists Coverage: provides protection if an insured is injured by an uninsured motorist, a hit and run driver, or a driver whose insurer is insolvent.
  •  Coverage for Damage to your car: provides coverage for physical damage to a covered auto and on certain nonowned autos.
  •  Duties After an Accident or Loss: outlines the duties of an insured after an accident or a loss.
  •  General Provisions: contains certain general provisions, such as cancellation and termination of the policy and the policy period and territory.
